Amid the Dolomites of the Gardena valley arises the Stevía, the backyard mountain of the renowned traditional woodcarving company ANRI. STEVIA – Silent Night nativity, is now also the name of the latest addition to the wide range of Anri nativities. It expressively reflects the values of the peasant life in the mountains, the tradition-conscious art of woodcarving and the Christian contemplation. The figures, carved out of a piece of Pine wood, are fondly hand painted with watercolors. As a result the edges and contours induced by the carving knife are particularly emphasized and convey a very special expression of affectionately performed manual work on each figurine . It is extremely important to the people at ANRI to preserve the traditional values for generations to come, and to set a turning point in the general representation of wood carving in order to restore this old craftsmanship. This is why they have dedicated themselves to develop this unique nativity scene in the style of the first half of the 20th century.
The ANRI STEVÌA – Silent Night nativity is only available in 15cm/6″ colored Pine wood. The 3 Wise Men, ox/donkey and additional shepherds will be introduced over the next few years.
